If you are looking for professional, on time service; keep looking because empire today is not that place! I placed my order for carpet and vinyl installation for the 7-28-16 and received two confirmation emails stating they would installed on the 28th.

Then the morning of the 28th my carpet installation was moved to the 29th without conformation from me. Two men came on the 28 and installed the vinyl but left a gap in the floor because carpet installers have to do their part before everything can be completed. So after having to take two days off of work to be home for installation, they show up on the 29th only to say they don't have enough carpet to complete the job so they left with no work being done.

Calling customer service is a complete waste of time because all they can do is leave messages that are never returned. I'm 8 months pregnant and have not be able to set my son's room up due to the unprofessional and inconvenient company of empire today.

Horrible experience as a first time customer. Installation was promised between 12 and 2 at 230 i called to find out why he had not shown up and was told hed be hete by 4.

At 430 i get a phone call that *** be arriving around 530.

I took off work for nothing and calls to their customer service supervisors are useless. Will not recommend or be a repeat customer

Absolutely worst experience ever! My mother purchased carpet from them and vinyl for installation. She is working on listing her home for sale. She spent a good deal of money with them. They canceled on the carpet install, after she'd taken the day to deal with it, because the truck broke down. Rescheduled for the next week, pushing back the listing of her home. Only they no showed. I cannot even believe how my mom was treated by these people.

She made about 17 calls yesterday, which led her to Dayton, where she was offered 50 bucks for her inconvenience (LOL!) and an endless round of waiting for customer service at the 800 number. She was told about 3 by customer service that the installers had until 6 to show up and to call them back at 6 if they didn't make it. I heard from my mom about 6 times yesterday. Went to her place at 6 to take this fiasco over. OF COURSE, the local office is closed at 6. Nothing we can do for you ma'm, so sorry. I asked for a supervisor. I was given Saul, the floor supervisor at the Texas Call Center. Saul was empowered to do absolutely nothing. Ensured me that he was doing everything in his power to satisfy us, but see sentence above. I asked for Saul's supervisor, but was informed that Saul is the highest level official at Empire!!!! Saul the floor supervisor of the call center... is the end and be all at Empire. WOW! I work for a tiny little healthcare system and we have a huge leadership structure and a board. Apparently Empire doesn't need those kind of things. Based upon the treatment of my mother, it certainly appears likely.

There is no way to reach anyone ever to assist you. I finally tracked down the guy who sold all this to my mother, who assured me that he was unable to reach a person either. He said he'd made lots of inquiries on my mom's behalf and received emails from corporate telling him THEY COULDN"T REACH THE COLUMBUS OFFICE EITHER. Wtf? LOL! According to Ed, he had 7 customers complain about their treatment and was concerned about how he was going to support his family when those customers canceled their orders and he lost the commission.

I'm certain this will be deleted within seconds of posting, but feel as though I've been left no options but this for complaint. I will post at every single social media option available to me. I would like my mom treated with the respect and kindness that Saul, the sole owner, proprietor and accountable executive of Empire, would want his mom treated with.

They fixed it!!

The finally fixed the issue. If the company had the carpet guys come out in the first place they could have saved themselves a headache!

It took ten minutes and they didn't even have to move all the furniture. Customer service talk to your floor professionals before your argue with your customer. It will save you so much ill will. Thank you for fixing the issue.

As I said before the sales guy was amazing, the hardwood guys were fabulous. I just had a small issue with the carpet and they fixed it in 10 minutes. Empire your products and services were up to snuff. If you could just get your costumer service people to handle calls by respecting the customer than you would have one heck of a company!

Good luck and thanks again. I love my new floors.

A piece of the carpet so i can fix it myself since the are unwilling and unable. half inch by 10 inches

I had my entire house done with Empire today. The sales rep was very nice.

The wood guys downstairs were awesome.The carpet people on the other hand didn't call before the came, showed up late, and when the did show up, they did with a half crew, so it took twice as long as predicted. After the install I had a problem with an area that I had specifically asked them about.The previous people that owned the house had cats. I asked the sales Rep if I should treat it prior to them coming. He told me no that the carpet guys would deal with it when the time comes.

If it needs anything they would let me know. Well they didn't. The base boards were so swollen that to get rid of some of the smell we replaced them. So now there is a gap between the carpet and the new non-smelling base board.

I called the company to get a piece of carpet to fix it.( the guys didn't leave any) The people at the office were not helpful at all.

They didn't try to resolve my issue. They would not give me a tine sample of carpet to fix the hole that was left by their mistake.I will never use Empire again.It is a shame that problem resolution is such an absent skill in a customer service company.

I have the a similar issue and have not heard back from them. Empire came into my home installed carpet on top of the old wood threads that had cat urine on them and we have a bedroom that smells like cat urine!!! They told me that someone from corporate will call me in 1 to 3 business days

We ordered 1room of carpeting and 2 closets. The 1 installers failed to.

Complete the closets. 2nd installers never showed up. 3rd installer took from 10:30 to 3 to do a 4x6 closet. Then cut the carpet pattern wrong for the 2nd closet.

So now more carpeting has to be ordered for a 2x3 closet. So who knows when or if this job will ever be completed. Oh, and customer service is horrible to say the least. Our case worker Judy never answers or returns our calls.

Will NEVER use or recommend this company again.

I love the question below if I want empire to contact me. Yeah, unlikely to happen.

Yes, I am a sales person for Columbus market. It is my biggest disappointment after working in the floor covering industry for some 30 years.

Ive been with the company 3 months. Over half of my sales have not gotten installed when we schedule them. And the installation dept will not get it yogether. They just don't show and do not bother calling the customer!

Im sick snd tired of your company misrepresenting yourselves. From the very beginning until now you have had the WORST customer service I have ever subcontracted with. No one cares and sees any reason to correct your misrepresentation. Im completly beside myself in the handling of your budiness and the lies thst are told to me snd my customers.

I just had Empire do some work for me, for the first time, and I though you might be interested in knowing why I am so unhappy and could never in good conscious refer you to any of my family or friends.

My wife and I have used Express flooring on 4 previous projects with good success, no issues, no problem. Projects started on time and finished on time. When it came time to install hardware flooring on our stairway and upstairs hall and carpet three bedrooms including the master bedroom we thought we would get Empire involved for some comparison pricing, because it was a good sized job. Empire provided us with a good quote, very competitive and the Empire Sales Rep matched Express Flooring’s price plus $100.00. We decided to select Empire, we were happy with the rep and he assured us, of course, that we would be happy.

Our hardware install date was Tuesday the 24th and was scheduled for two days. Here is a bulleted description of events:

The crew was scheduled for between 8 and 10AM, they didn’t show until noon, they worked until 5PM

The second day they finished the hallway upstairs only.

They had to come back a third day to install the stairs

They showed up late, took a lot of breaks including long phone calls

We had to move the carpet install from Thursday the 26th to Friday the 27th because the hardwood wasn’t complete

This was going to make our departure to Vegas a tight one

At 5PM on Thursday the 26th the hardwood floor installers said they were going to come back on Friday to finish

I objected and told them I wanted them to stay and finish and clean up

They left at 8:30PM. My wife and I did about 2 hours of clean up, including all the debris outside so we could get them out.

On Friday morning I got a call from the installation department saying that ‘there was an issue and they would not be able to carpet on Friday’. There went the Vegas trip.

I called the - the Sales Manager in the office and complained, telling him that our trip to Vegas was now ruined. (He was at the lake for an extended weekend - glad he could do that).

He assured me that he would have an installer at our home first thing Saturday morning to do the carpet.

The carpet installer didn’t show up until 12:30PM. The office forgot or did not schedule properly, because they called an installer who had the day off, and at the last minute scheduled him to do this project.

He left at 9PM without finishing the project.

Apparently they did not given him enough carpet for the master closet.

We were to have an installer out Tuesday to finish, but they informed us that it would now be Wednesday before the truck would be available with the balance of the carpet.

They scheduled us for Wednesday (today June 1) for between 8 and 10PM, the installer showed up at 1:30PM

So a 3 day job took up 8 days of our time

The job is now complete. On Tuesday I called the office General Manager and asked him if he was aware of the poor service and why I would be unhappy. He was not, and after I explained he assured me that they would have the installer at the home to finish on Wednesday morning (today) and that he would call me at 1PM to see how the final part of the install went and talk to me about some reimbursement because ‘I shouldn’t have had to do clean up work’. wow!

The GM did not call, and I never received any reimbursement.

My wife and I are kicking ourselves for not selecting Express. Working with Empire has been a nightmare so I’m sure you will understand I would never use Empire again and why I will share my experience on social media, so that others might take a hard second look.

Do NOT use these people!! We had carpet installed a few weeks ago, and they put at least 60 dings and marks in our walls, and even our ceiling (don't ask me how they managed to do that!) After numerous of phone calls and horrible customer service, they requested that we get 2 estimates...both being around $400.

Needless to say after serveral more phone calls, they are supposenly sending a check for $100. $100!!!!!

$100 doesn't even include all of the materials to buy everything to fix the damage. Needless to say, a hard lesson learned and I hope others chose NOT to use this company!

nothing was ever done they offered to do the floor for 50% off they run this special all the time I will never use Empire again I really think they took advance of a senior citizen Contacted another company and they advised me that they didn't put a moisture barrio down Don't have the money now but someday it will be fixed but not by empire Still pissed off It was totally messed up from the beginning not showing up and the day they did was late Like I said not a good company My family has used Empire and they also did a bad job Never did come back and finish corner molding around bottom of door and broke a brick on my fireplace

I am a homeowner who needed a quality upgrade to my existing carpeting as part of an effort to sell my house. I wanted something of good quality -- a step up from what was in the home -- that I would enjoy if my family and I ended up moving back into the home.

So this wasn't a case of putting anything in and we definitely didn't want "builder grade." The Empire Today salesperson was very critical of the old carpeting and made a big point of emphasizing that a sign of poor quality is being able to see the tracks of your feet on the carpeting. He even said our newer carpeting in the basement was of pretty poor quality for this reason. I was shown samples and advised (pressured) to take a particular brand of carpet. When I saw the finished product, I was distressed and hugely disappointed to discover that the capreting was of lower value than what the installers removed.

The installers even agreed with me! Very cheap looking! I complained to customer service and the escalation process has been half-hearted and inconsistent. Two different conversations, no follow ups.

The last person I spoke with "at the local Georgia branch office" said she would talk to her manager and get back to me "within a few hours." That was a week ago. I also tried to contact the original salesperson and the customer service line said "they would try to connect me" and then they came back with a cryptic "He didn't answer." No option to contact him directly. I have never been so disgusted by a company in my life! There is no follow through, non-existent professionalism, and salespeople who are like phantoms - more than happy to feed you empty promises, only to disappear and leave you with a *** product and no recourse!

I will never recommend Empire to any of my friends or work colleagues. Empire invests in a lot of "show" and very little substance. Buyer beware. Picture below shows Empire's product and the photo to the right a piece of my existing carpeting removed from the home.

The installers employed by Empire even admitted that my old carpet "was a lot better quality." You judge!

This is the WORST company I have ever dealt with ! We had carpet installed 5 weeks ago and they did the horrible job on our stairs.

We have had 2 people from empireout to look at them and both agreed the stairs should not have been left like they were. We were told the stairs and the other installation problems would be fixed. 5 weeks later we are still waiting.

We call multiple times a week and can never get anyone at the Orlando office to ever answer the phone. Our next step is to stop payment !

I am writing this review at 1030 PM while my carpet is STILL being installed.

The sales pitch for this new carpet was great. The salesman was right on time and had even called to see if we would be available an hour earlier. After agreeing to purchase carpet from them we set a date and were told we would be called with a time the day before.

First issue we were told we would be givin a 2 hour time frame. They told us between 1-4 pm. The installers showed up at 4 :50 .

We do not have a garage and it was raining outside(had been all day). The installers told us there was nothing they could do because they needed a garage to cut the carpet in and we dont have one so we could not have our carpet today. That was not acceptable after waiting ALL day. Their manager told them to cut it outside in the pouring rain,which again is not acceptable. My mom started making some phone calls trying to find somewhere to let them cut the carpet and told the manager she finally got on the phone from empire she was going to end up having to pay someone to let them use a garage somewhere and that empire needs to reimburse us for this and they said it was doubtful they would do that.

She then called another supervisor while we continued to look for a place. In the meantime the installers informed us they were leaving. We had to argue with them and stop them from leaving while waiting on hold with a supervisor .

After about 40 min of back and forth trying to get the men out of their truck to come around the corner and get the carpet cut they finally did.

It is now almost 11 pm and they are not even close to being finished.

They arent very friendly men which is only slightly understandable because i am sure they arent contracted to be working this late, but they are leaving tools and making little messes all over the house and have no decency to knock on bedroom doors before needing to open them knowing there are people inside the rooms.

All this and we havent even called about being compensated for our issues and after reading some of these reviews i doubt that will go well at all!

Long story short NEVER EVER EVER order from Empire!!!

I had a morning appointment that the saleswoman approved because we had three rooms scheduled for completion, same day. When they called, they said they wouldnt be here until 4-6 pm.

Then, they sent a team of one man to install and his wife, George was with him. He doesn't speak English so, she introduces herself as him...Then, they said they didn't have enough carpet to finish, they blamed it on the saleswoman. The wife is walking around my house all over my white rug in her shoes and she asks to use my bathroom...had she looked professional it might not have struck me in a way -but she was rude and I didn't see a reason why she was snooping around the rooms in my house that werent in need of the carpet. She was loud and trying to speak over Her husband- I also speak Spanish and didn't need her to interpret and she wasn't working -so I didn't see the need for her to be in my house and not drive herself to a gas station to use the restroom.

She had no interest in doing the job and was happy that I cancelled. We were doing smaller bedrooms and they were going to have 4 separate pieces of carpet in my master bedroom. That was never discussed nor did they complete any rooms.

I had three small children, their entire rooms in my living room and a wasted Saturday. Now, waiting to cancel my contract due to their poor service.

we had the carpet installed march 2015. we do not live here full time.

October we noticed it was buckling up at seem between living and bedroom. we called the end of jan when we were here again to make sure it was repaired before warrenty. they could not do it in that time frame because its over an hour from Orlando and would schedule it next time were here. called end of feb.

and made an appt. for march 11. got a message from deana lewis that day to change to Monday the 14th, we said yes. never came or called.

deana lewis said wed. afternoon for sure! never called or came. the 16th.

left many messages to her, she never calls back to make yet another appt. we needed it done before we leave on the 20th. very unorganized repair organization.
