Empire did a high pressure sales tactic with the wood floors they sold me. My wife and I asked the sales rep about our dogs, we have two Labradors, being on the floor at least five times and if they would scratch them. We even showed the dogs to him. He said he knew people with bigger dogs that had the same flooring we were thinking about putting in and they did not scratch the floors. We had the dogs come downstairs after the installation crew finished for the night and they scratched the floor right away. They didn't scratch the wood finish just the protective finish.

We were told by the sales rep that they would be putting a floating floor down with quiet walk underneath the flooring. When the installers arrived and we questioned them about the quiet walk, we were told they never did this type of flooring with the quiet walk that the only way this flooring was installed was with glue. The installation of the floor was satisfactory, but their clean up needs improvement. I had glue on the walls, doors, appliances and they took paint off the walls with their cleaning solution. They also didn't take the floor all the way under the dishwasher and therefore made the dishwasher unlevel. Myself and a friend had to cut pieces to go under the back legs of the dishwasher to make it level.

They offered a monetary value to me but it was more of an insult for the expense I have had to endure. We would have bought different flooring from them if they would have been truthful with us. I would not recommend using Empire for your flooring needs.
