Empire Today's reply to:

Sick and tired of EMPIRE TODAY!!!!!!!

I had Empire install ceramic tile on my kitchen and bath floors in Sept of 2007. Today is oct23 2008. At this minute the installers are in my bath for the 3rd installation. They would not be there except for the fact they refused to refund my money. The first time the installer did not reset the toilet properly. Water was extensive .Since the water was going under my house I didn`t know until I smelled a horrible order. Mold and mildew was rampant. They refunded my plumber bill. Second time after a couple of weeks the grout started pulling away from the tile. I tried to call the corporate office when I got in touch they would not let me speak to anyone there instead rerouted me back to the local store.I didn`t mention that they ordered the wrong tile twice. and forgot to order once. I should have searched the Internet before instead of after the fact. Will never make same mistake again. Buyer beware!!!!!!!

Empire Today - Empire Carpet Indianapolis

Thank God I didn't get past the salesmen. He was a weasel! He told me that the carpet I wanted was over $5 a square foot. I checked around and found the same exact carpet for $3.89 a square foot. When I confronted the salesman he argued with me. I told him to come pick up his samples and two weeks later he hasn't taken his junk carpet off of my front porch. In a couple of days my dog will be using it as a bed. I am glad I found this site. Stay away or do your homework!

Empire Today in Midland, Michigan - Empire Carpet Rip Off

Bought high priced carpet, not even four months later our carpet is JUNK! Supposed to warranty it, but two months after my initial call, we still have no new carpet. This is a *** company, managers are a joke, and I was actually told by the manager that I purchased UGLY carpet! Please do not buy their carpet. I've been placed on hold to eventually be hung up on, or have been hung up on while hearing laughter in the background. I just got off of another call from the guy who was supposed to show up tonight, and BIG surprise!!!! NO ONE IS SHOWING UP!!!!! We have friends who have spent WAY less from local carpet retailers, and have SUPERIOR carpet compared to Empire's ***!!!

Empire Today in Atlanta, Georgia - I purchased new carpet, and they put in the wrong color.

I purchased carpet from Empire today, they installed the wrong color but would not replace it for the right color. They said I had to purchase a new roll of carpet at there price, which I already purchase carpet for over $5,000. They would not make up for there salesman wrong doings. It was all the consumers problem. They hurt the small people in this world, that does not much money to replace anything. If they were a stand up company for their product, they should go out of their way to help with the mistakes they made. Well all the complains they should be out of business. Do not purchase anything from this company.

Empire Today in Kansas City, Missouri - Don't let them waste your time!

Today was the second time that I had a scheduled appointment with Empire Today AND the second time that I was stood up without so much as a courtesy call. We're building a home so we are in need of flooring for the entire house. This would have been a huge sale for Empire Today. I'm pleased to say that it WILL NOT be a sale for them and that their competitor will reap the benefits of Empire's lack of courtesy and poor, poor customer service. When I made the appointment I told the agent that this was new construction and therefore my home phone number is not at the location. I gave them two cell-phone numbers to use instead. I also asked that the salesman call us on one of the cell #'s 30 minutes prior to arriving. I called Empire Today as instructed at the beginning of the two-hour time frame on the day of the appointment to determine when the salesman would arrive. I then drove out to our building site to meet him. Approximately 1/2 way into the appointment time, he called my home (again NOT where we needed him to call) and told my daughter that he was on his way. 45 minutes later he hadn't arrived so I called him on his cell (got the number from my daughter on our home's caller ID). The salesman had the gall to tell me that he needed better directions so he turned around and went home. He then asked when a better time to reschedule would be. Since this was a second chance for this so-called business, I informed him that there wasn't a better time and hung up. When I called the 800# for Empire Today to tell them what happened. I was told that they would make the report and that we would hear from the sales manager within 3 business days. Yeah, right! NOT!!!!!!!!!! I want nothing to do with a company that stands up their customers without so much as a call. I beg you not to let them waste your time as they obviously make a habit of wasting peoples time.

I used empire today and they put the wrong floor it does not match the previous wood

THey put the wrong color wood instead of matching it to the existing wood that they put in last year. THey messed up the corners. They split black oily stuff on our couches. Left the house a mess. will never do business with them again. They leave people at the house that dont understand english. My house is a horrible mess and they will call in three days so they say. when it came to selling they hurried us and send people the next day and now that we are screwed with a ugly floor they will take their time to call us back. what good business ethics. what is wrong with America

Empire Today in Wayne, Pennsylvania - Disrespectful to Police Officers

I scheduled a free in home estimate with Empire Today. They gave me a 2 hour window for when someone will arrive. 10 minutes after my 2 hour window ended, I called. I spoke with a representative who got in contact with the technician who was supposed to come to my house. He told me that the technician said that I live in too bad a neighborhood for them to come to my house. No one ever called, they just decided that my husband's POLICE OFFICER salary cannot afford us a better home. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY!

Empire Today's reply to:

Done wrong by empire today

I 'm headed to court. After reading all these complaints I found to be true. My alarm wiring was damaged during installation of laminated flooring. It was working before the installation. Empire does not want to pay me $400.00 I spent fixes the repair, if I am wrong to do this, let the judge tell me so.From the beginning I saw the ad(very impressive ad) I called the salesman was nice and oh so good customer service. After the deal I called him to tell him what had happen & along came a devil not interested, I have your sale now. Then I have fought to try to get my money,it will not break me but it is the other people that this may happen to. I am going to stand up for my rights. Oh, I failed to mention one customer service rep. hung up on me. I will never buy anything or tell anyone to buy anything from Empire Today. All I wanted was a new floor and I got a Headache. I am so sorry I purchased from them. Customer Service is not what it use to be.

Empire Today's reply to:

Empire Today pushy & pricy!

We needed to replace carpet on 1 staircase before moving, not wanting to spend a lot of money since we wouldn't be living with it, so I called Empire to see what they offered. I asked the woman on the phone what the average price was for carpeting 1 staircase and she said "We don't quote over the phone. A rep will come to your house and show you your options." Having a 6 month old, I was hoping that this would save me time & be fairly reasonably priced. WRONG! The rep, a small man in his 50's, came to our house and surprisingly only brought 1 sample in. He measured the stairs & then showed me the color sample to match up with pre-existing carpeting upstairs, all the while being friendly and chatty. Then we sat down to "calculate" the cost. I don't know where he was pulling this from because he took out a legal pad and a calculator and wrote down $1600 at the top. I was shocked....it probably showed on my face....and he told me not to worry because he had coupons....and took off $100. Then he said there was some other discount that could take the price down to $960. I said that it seemed high and we didn't want to spend a lot just to move. He offered to take it down to $860, which I knew was still too high, so I told him I'd have to consult with my husband. He got VERY upset with me and told me that I needed to call my husband now to make the decision. I knew my husband would say it was too much, but called anyway. My husband said no & the rep tried to sell us on the idea of "not paying until 2010" and "only $25 deposit" but I said it seemed to high & we would call them back if we couldn't find for less. He became defensive and told me that Home Depot would be just as expensive and "good luck getting them to install in less than 3 weeks!" and then pretty much stormed out of my house while I was thanking him for his time. In the end, we went through a local contractor (XO Flooring, Philly suburbs) and had the entire staircase done for $400, in 45 minutes, 3 days later. Love them! Stay away from Empire!!

Empire Today's reply to:

Empire Today in Yonkers, New York - Empire carpet is fraudulent

This was not the first time I purchased carpet for my office so I knew that I needed a high wear carpet and a very thin pad for the wheels of my equipment to work. I specifically told the salesman of this and was assured that would be possible. That was a lie since the company does not carry more than one type of pad. When I complained about this the company offered to replace pad only if I purchased an entire roll of that padding and paid for reinstallation. I have also found that their pricing was way out of line and one would be a fool not to negotiate price. I would discourage anyone from purchasing from such a company.
